# Telegram Theme Generator

Six colors decide how a Telegram chat looks. They are the wallpaper, two bubble colors, two text colors and the link color.

This tool turns them into theme files for iOS, Android, Desktop and macOS. It runs in your browser.

## Need posts for your channel too?

A theme makes a channel look good. Mira finds material for your channel and drafts the posts. You decide what goes out.

## What you get

- Six color fields and a live chat preview that redraws when you change a color.
- A light and a dark preset to start from.
- One palette, four theme files: iOS, Android, Desktop and macOS.
- A link with your six colors, so you can share a theme or open it again later.
- It is free, and you can make as many themes as you like.

## How to make and install your theme

1. **Pick six colors.** Start from a preset and edit it, or set each color yourself.
2. **Download the file for your device.** Each system uses its own file type.
3. **Open the file in Telegram.** Telegram shows a preview. Apply the theme and keep the change.

## Ready-made themes

Want a theme without picking colors? See [18 free Telegram themes](https://usemira.pro/blog/telegram-themes). Each one has a one-tap install link.

Writing a post for your channel? Our free [Telegram post editor](https://usemira.pro/tools/post-editor) shows it in a light and a dark chat before you send.

## Theme not applying? Fixes

1. **Use the file made for your device.** iPhone takes `.tgios-theme`, Android `.attheme`, Telegram Desktop `.tdesktop-theme`, macOS `.palette`.
2. **Open the file in Telegram.** The steps for each device are under “Install steps by device” below.
3. **Confirm the change.** Telegram shows a preview. Apply the theme and, on Desktop, keep the change.
4. **Check your wallpaper.** Your own wallpaper picture stays; the theme's other colors still apply. Reset the wallpaper in Telegram's chat settings to see the theme's background color.

We tested the install on iPhone. Android, Desktop and macOS are not yet tested on real devices. If a step does not match your app, [tell us](https://usemira.pro/contact).

## Questions

### Is the Theme Generator free?

Yes. It is free, and you can make as many themes as you like.

Mira, the Telegram bot for channel owners, is a separate product. It has a Free plan and a paid Pro plan.

### Do I need Telegram open to make a theme?

No. You make and download the theme on this page.

You need [Telegram](https://telegram.org/) on your device only to apply the file.

### Will it work with my chat wallpaper?

Partly. A theme carries a plain background color.

If you set your own wallpaper picture, Telegram keeps it. Only the bubbles, text and links change. To see your background color, reset the wallpaper in Telegram's chat settings first.

### How is this different from a public theme link?

You get a personal theme file for your own device. A public link points to a cloud theme.

You publish that theme with Telegram's own theme editor, a separate step inside Telegram. For that, start with the [Telegram theme documentation](https://core.telegram.org/themes).
